NAME: BARR. AGATHA OSIEKE
POSITION: Secretary

Agatha Osieke is a lawyer and a certified chartered mediator and conciliator from the Institute of Chartered Mediator and Conciliators (ICMC). She is the founder and Executive Director of Women Youths and Children Advancement Program (WOYCAP). In her 20 years in the civic space, 5 years was used for volunteering for International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA Edo) and Forum of Nigeria Women in Politics (FONWIP) where her capacity was built on different thematic areas including policy development.

Over the years, her capacity on Good governance, Peacebuilding, Policy, Gender mainstreaming, Budget Analysis, Tracking and Monitoring Project implementation, Sustainable Development Goal advocacy, has paced her on the leadership of notable networks in her state of work. She led Transition Monitoring group for 7 years and at present, she is the only female in the board. She coordinated Partners for Peace in the Niger Delta for 6 years and rose to the position of the Central Working Committee representing Edo State. She also coordinated West Africa Network on Peacebuilding (WANEP) Nigeria for 3 years and at present she is the State coordinator of Women in Peacebuilding Network (WIPNET). She is also the state coordinator of Gender and Constitutional Reform Network (GECORN) and recently she was a member of the technical working group that ensured that the Edo State Gender Policy was put in place and launched.   

She is a gender advocate with zero tolerance to non-inclusion. She is passionate about creating space for women in leadership and issues on women peace and security and also a frontier for gender inclusive budget. She is a great mobilizer and result oriented. Strong willed.

She is presently consulting for organizations and active guest in several media talk shows on women and development.
